Bluebird Theater During Covid Pandemic

Bluebird Theater During Covid Pandemic

Bluebird Theater, We Miss You Too!

Have you been to the Bluebird Theater  in Denver yet? Sadly, I have yet to see a show there. I recently moved to Denver from Baltimore of April 2019 and this is on my bucket-list, till our lovely COVID-19 friend came along. Also, thank you for checking out my very first post in the launch on my creative media blog! I'm a content creator and storyteller by heart, and I specifically launched with this photo. Learn why below.... :)

Night Shot of The Bluebird Theater- a Collaboration shot with Rebecca Todd, Denver Photographer of TruBlu

One of my main reasons for moving to the Denver area was because of the music scene and proximity to Red Rocks! Coming from Baltimore, there are charmed music venues such as this, like the 8X10 in Federal Hill, and non-stop live shows at Water Front Hotel and the Cats Eye Pup in Fells Point. If you're ever in the Baltimore area, be sure to check out these two amazing neighborhoods I've had the opportunity to explore for ten years!

Anyways, back to the Bluebird... When COVID hit, I never really understood how much music meant to me until live shows and concerts were ripped away feeling like a stab to the heart... Might sound dramatic, but that's exactly how it felt. Soon my living room became a place to dance and stream music. But, it's just not the same.

My two good friends both live on the same street of the Bluebird District Neighborhood, Kerry & Kate. Which is the reason why I discovered this amazing "We Love You All See You Soon Message". Even though I've never been to this venue, it struck a cord.  First, the unique neighborhood and "charm" of the theater style sign reminded me of home. If you know anything about Balti, Baltimore, Charm City or Bmore... it's known for its charm. If you're an outsider and only have the reference of The Wire, then you won't understand this. (and reason why you must consult me first on a true "Baldimore" itinerary. End rant.

Secondly, the friendly message during such a crazy pandemic time, gave me hope: that we will one day, be able to listen to an awesome jam band or solo vocalist in an authentic atmosphere, surrounded by happy people, sweat, and cocktails, once again.

Night Shots With Rebecca

More about why I wanted to take this photo: I've always loved photography and have played around with it a little. I got my first used Nikon DSLR forever ago for $250 dabbling in a wedding and some family photoshoots. Then the iPhone cameras got so legit, I let cobwebs build up on that DSLR. Anyways, when I moved to Denver, one of the first people I networked with was Rebecca Todd, a local Denver Photographer with an amazing portfolio. Rebecca quickly became of my closest friends and collaborators of my media company Purpose On Social. I told her about the Bluebirds COVID message, and proposed she help me with a night shot! Side not, I'm obsessed with night photography, and warning, you'll see a lot of it on this site. Rebecca jumped to teach me about night shots and take these photos with me, which makes this even more special. Another side note, stopped at Sully's Pizza for a slice and a strawberry rhubarb mule off Colfax before taking a this shot, and saw a beautiful rainbow before. Overall it was a pretty good evening.
